Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Convenience
What's the point of yet another line of personal products, you may wonder! While they are dime a dozen, we all know that most of the products in the market are loaded chemically, many of them are actually toxic. The "natural" ones aren't always effective and most that are, tend to be a tad too expensive. Most of all, those that utilize Ayurvedic principles to prepare are a very rare breed. That's one gap I'm looking to fill...
There are plethora of herbs and oils that are used for various purposes in Ayurveda. While these are extremely effective if used appropriately, not everybody finds them convenient to use. This is the other aspect that I'm trying to fill the gap on with my line of products.
All products in this line have been personally developed by me, after a lot of experimentation with various recipes. My family has been, and continues to be the test subjects, for which I'm eternally thankful!! I hope to continue fine tuning the products based on feedback from you and to make this a worthwhile experience for everybody!
Thank you for your trust in me and my products!
Cheers,
Soumya
Ingredients
The Oils
The primary oils used in our products are Avocado and Grapeseed oils. They are good for a wide variety of skin types, are non-comedogenic (won't clog pores) and don't have any common allergens in them (like nuts).
Shea and Cocoa butter are also used in some of the recipes.
The Herbs
We use herb-infused oils in our products, unless otherwise noted. Each herb has been particularly chosen for the benefits it offers to skin health. The herbs powders/extracts that are used to make the infused oils are of high quality (mostly organic) and sourced from reputed sellers.
Kesar (Saffron) | Manjistha (Indian Madder) | Neem (Indian Lilac) | Tulsi (Holy Basil) | Kasturi Manjal (Wild Turmeric) | Ashwagandha (Ayurvedic Ginseng) | Chandan (Sandalwood) | Amla (Indian Gooseberry) | Haritaki (chebulic myrobalan) | Bhibhitaki (myrobalan) | Shallaki (Frankinsense) | Yashtimadhu (Licorice) | Rose | Carrot | Orange Peel | Pomagranate Peel
The Fragrances
None of the products have any artificial fragrances. Only essential oils - ones that are particularly good for the skin - are used for this purpose (Rose, Sandalwood etc.)
The "et ceteras"
There are 2 types of products overall - those that are entirely oil-based (like lip balms) and those that include water (like creams/lotions). While the oil-based products are fairly straightforward, those preparations that need water pose some challenges.
In the case of lotions, oils and water need to be combined to give it a light non-greasy texture that we love. This necessitates adding 2 ingredients:
An emulsifier - this allows oil and water to mix without separating.
A preservative - when water is added to anything, life - including bacteria, fungus etc. - evolves, hence the need for a preservative for a longer shelf-life.
Both emulsifiers and preservatives are needed in extremely small quantities (<1% the volume of the product). The brands of those have also been carefully chosen to not cause sensitivities in the users.
